General Sir Andrew Gregory

This portrait was commissioned by the Royal Horse Artillery 1st Regiment. Gen Sir Andrew is a former commanding officer and Honorary Colonel, and the portrait hangs in the Officers Mess alongside portraits of previous former commanding officers.

It was a great honour to be awarded this commission. General Sir Andrew Gregory is currently the Master Gunner St James' Park, and also the Controller SSAFA, the armed forces charity.

The painting is acrylic on canvas measuring 36 x 27 inches.

General Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman

This portrait was commissioned by the Royal Horse Artillery 1st Regiment. Gen Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman is a former commanding officer and the portrait hangs on the walls of the officer’s mess alongside portraits of previous commanding officers who attain certain rank.

It was an honour to be awarded this commission. After much discussion, the General made the decision to have a drawing rather than a painting, as he prefers the informality of drawings.

The drawing is on A2 sized paper.

Commemorative Watercolours for the 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery by Portrait Painter Simon Taylor

This series of four watercolours was commissioned in 2011 to commemorate the regiments previous 10 years service; in the Balkans, as peace keepers as part of the UN Force in Cyprus, and the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.
