This portrait was commissioned by the Royal Horse Artillery 1st Regiment. Gen Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman is a former commanding officer and the portrait will hang on the walls of the officer’s mess alongside portraits of previous commanding officers of note.
It was a great honour to be awarded this commission, as the Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman is currently the Master Gunner St James' Park, a very senior general indeed. The General made the decision to have a drawing rather than a painting, as he prefers drawings to paintings and also didn't want the regimental officers to be too much out of pocket as they have to pay for the work.
The drawing is on A2 sized paper.
This was a private commission for former commanding officer and now Brigadier Bennett. I produced two works, a watercolour and a drawing.
The watercolour and drawing are both approximately A2 in size.
This series of four watercolours was commissioned in 2011 to commemorate the regiments last 10 years of service, from serving in the Balkans, as peace keepers as part of the UN Force in Cyprus, and the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.
